Where it all began
It was a day in the late summer of 2014 when I hopped on a friend’s road bike for just a short stretch of the Exe Estuary cycle path. Since that moment, life has never been the same.
Bikes have become my obsession, my passion, my therapy and my friend. The love of cycling guided me through some darker times, yet in other ways also pushed me straight into them. In making all of the mistakes and learning the lessons (not always the first time round…) I am becoming a stronger rider and a better person. But most important of all to me is the enjoyment of riding on two wheels, whichever of the many disciplines that the sport offers, accompanied by the wonderful people that it seems to attract.
Making passion work
In a short period of time, I’ve been lucky enough to work both for and alongside established businesses in the cycling industry and entrepreneurs alike, from events and guided tours to retail, including Adventure Cafe, Let’s Go Events, Rockets and Rascals, Bike UK and many more.
As a freelance cycling journalist, I cover cycling events and travel, conduct reviews of various cycling products and bikes, and especially enjoy talking to the people that make up our unique community. Previous publications include Total Women’s Cycling and Arrivée magazine, and working with Bike Radar for their 2017 Women’s Road Bike of the Year.
Please get in touch regarding commissions and collaborations; I’ll be delighted to hear from you.
